Song 1:
“Der aaronitische Segen”
in “Die Lorenzer Motette in Nürnberg”
by Der Windsbacher Knabenchor
The Lord bless thee, and keep thee:
The Lord make his face shine upon thee,
and be gracious unto thee:
The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee,
and give thee peace.(Numbers 6:24-26)
Der Herr segne dich und behüte dich;
der Herr lasse sein Angesicht leuchten über dir
und sei dir gnädig;
der Herr hebe sein Angesicht über dich
und gebe dir Frieden.(Mose 6:24-26)
The Lorenzkirche (St Lawrence Church) is one of the three important churches of the city of Nuremberg.
And if you want to see more of the Lorenzkirche, I found two panoramas of it online:
• Interior of the Lorenzkirche
• Exterior of the Lorenzkirche
Here’s what I think about today’s pictures and blessings:
Out of darkness and destruction light, hope and peace can arise.
Evil can be conquered and even if Good cannot win (yet), things can be made better on our earth.
By everyone of us, every day, at least a little bit.
Christmas days or
holidays or
simply *days* (and nights, too)
filled
with hope, peace and many blessings.
I wish the same to you! May the new year bring you unlooked for surprises and wonderful gifts!
Those are incredible pictures… how that church was not destroyed while everything around it was is amazing. To see it flourishing again is a wonderful tribute to the people who live there.
Thanks so much for this lovely advent calendar that you have spent so much time and effort on. I know I have been blessed! 🙂
We had this lovely blessing in church tonight.
Thank you so much for this lovely Advent calender.I have eagerly awaited each day and am sorry Advent is now over !
May your life be filled with blessings!
I think once in a while it’s necessary to remember how far we have come since WW2 ended. Because in spite of all our world’s shortcomings, things have improved during the last 50 years.
Remembering that once in a while, and being grateful for it, is a gift we can give to ourselves. 🙂
I’m glad you enjoyed the calendar!
And yours!
