\nMountains racing to the moon.
\nThe moment of their start recorded
\non the startling, ripped canvas of the sky.
\nHoles punched in a desert of clouds.
\nThrust into nothing.
\nEcho-a white mute.
\nQuiet.<\/p>\n

Yeti, down there we’ve got Wednesday,
\nbread and alphabets.
\nTwo times two is four.
\nRoses are red there,
\nand violets are blue.<\/p>\n

Yeti, crime is not all
\nwe’re up to down there.
\nYeti, not every sentence there
\nmeans death.<\/p>\n

We’ve inherited hope-
\nthe gift of forgetting.
\nYou’ll see how we give
\nbirth among the ruins.<\/p>\n

Yeti, we’ve got Shakespeare there.
\nYeti, we play solitaire
\nand violin. At nightfall,
\nwe turn lights on, Yeti.<\/p>\n

Up here it’s neither moon nor earth.
\nTears freeze.
\nOh Yeti, semi-moonman,
\nturn back, think again!<\/p>\n

I called this to the Yeti
\ninside four walls of avalanche,
\nstomping my feet for warmth
\non the everlasting
\nsnow.<\/p>\n
